Exciting news for football fans! FIFA has announced that the World Football Awards will be held in Dubai starting next year. The awards will celebrate the world’s top players, coaches, and football legends.
Gianni Infantino, FIFA president since 2016, revealed the partnership during the World Sports Summit held at Madinat Jumeirah, which runs from December 29–30. Notable attendees include sports icons like Novak Djokovic, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and football legend Ronaldo Nazario.
“FIFA is investing billions in football development globally and wants the entire world involved,” said Infantino. He emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for clubs and players everywhere to perform at the highest level.
FIFA also provides grants to its 211 member countries to improve football infrastructure and aims to establish elite talent development academies in every country by 2027. Infantino hinted that the UAE could host one of these academies, potentially making it the 101st FIFA academy.
This is a huge step for football in the region, and fans at TCR Arena can look forward to celebrating world-class talent right here in Dubai!
